Kilkenny-based Cartoon Saloon is a twice Academy Award® and BAFTA nominated animation studio formed by Paul Young, Tomm Moore and Nora Twomey in 1999.
Paul Young is co-founder, CEO, and producer of the Oscar-nominated animated feature films Song of the Sea and The Secret of Kells. He is producer of the animated TV series Puffin Rock which is airing on RTEjr and Nick Jr. UK and many other broadcasters internationally. Paul was executive producer and a BAFTA nominee for Skunk Fu, which has sold globally to over 140 countries worldwide including the BBC and Cartoon Network. He works with his partners Nora Twomey and Tomm Moore to develop new and original animated films for screens big and small with a large team of highly creative people in their Kilkenny studio.
Paul is also an award winning illustrator and cartoonist and currently provides the Sunday Independent business section with its weekly caricature. The studio currently employees 43 crew which is expected to increase to over 70 by the end of June 2015 with continued work on a new feature film and a number of TV series projects in the pipeline.
