Michael is a UL (NIHE) engineering graduate who initially worked with Digital Equipment Corp in Ireland and Schlumberger Aerospace in the UK as a manufacturing support and process improvement engineer. Michael previously lived in the USA and worked for a software solutions provider delivering enterprise solutions to manufacturing companies. He set up, and has since sold, CIMple which delivered automations solutions to the semiconductor industry.
Michael founded TyreCheck in 2005 with the goal of automating the tyre service market, a traditional industry operating primarily in paper and a prime candidate for a digital revolution. TyreCheck products help tyre resellers optimise the selling and servicing of tyres and tyre related products to fleets and end users. The products are delivered on a cloud based service and significantly reduce the cost of ownership to customers.
TyreCheck is now the global leader in this market and is predicted to grow 100% year-on-year to 2018. Their products are used in 20 countries and are available in 13 languages. They are a 100% international business, 40% EU, 40% USA and 20% RoW. They plan to expand aggressively in Asia in 2016. Three of the world’s top five tyre companies are TyreCheck customers.
