Having attained an honours degree in Business Studies from the University of Limerick, Clodagh joined Abbey Machinery Ltd in 2004 as a trainee accountant. Over the next 8 years she gained experience throughout the business, building on her knowledge base before finally taking over as Managing Director in 2012. She is a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants. She has also completed the Leadership 4 Growth CFO program with Enterprise Ireland at Stanford University, California.
Abbey Machinery is a third generation family business specialising in the manufacture and distribution of Agricultural equipment, specifically in Slurry, Muck Handling and Feeding Equipment.
Abbey Machinery employees just under 100 people, the majority of whom are based at its Toomevara plant with the remainder consisting of field sales staff throughout Ireland and the UK, and retail and service staff at its retail outlets in Nenagh and Clonmel.
Abbey Machinery has continually expanded its distribution horizons, and today, exports represent a substantial portion of the business. The business currently exports to Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, France, Iceland and the UK.
